The Beautiful Tamanaco Hotel in Caracas
During a business trip to Caracas, Borden called his friend Dr. Luis Pernia. Luis suggested that Borden should meet the sweetest and most beautiful girl that he knew. They agreed that Luis would call Maria's mother to start the formal introduction process. After a very persuasive conversation, Clara Baiz agreed to allow Maria to go out with Borden. After initially refusing to take part in a blind-date, Luis was able to persuade Maria to take Borden on a tour of the city. They met in the lobby of Tamanaco Hotel at 9:00 p.m. on October 26, 1993 and this was the beginning of their love story that brings us to their wedding day July 6 at 7:00 in the evening.
